The ambitions for UK sport are far reaching however for many sports organisations, developments in governance, funding, regulation, reputation and technology all impact upon the state of play. At this half day seminar we aim to help navigate some of the legal and commercial challenges and share insights from experts in the field.
We are delighted to welcome triple World Champion gymnast and Olympic medallist Beth Tweddle MBE - Director of Switch the Play, and Ash Cox, Director of Legal at British Swimming who will share their experience and insights in relation to sports duty of care in light of Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompsons Independent Review in April 2017 with a particular focus on athlete transition and also in relation to governance and the impact of the Code for Sports Governance.
We will also consider the General Data Protection Regulations which are due to come in to force in May 2018 and the implications for the acquisition, retention and use of membership data. Conduct and integrity in sport have been the focus of recent media attention. We will be providing practical advice and tips on handling the media, including crisis and reputation management.
